A Swansea Christmas just wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Waterfront Winterland!
You came in your thousands to enjoy Swansea’s award winning winter attraction last year and we’re hoping our 13th year will be the best yet, as Museum Park (in the grounds of the National Waterfront Museum) will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland once again.
Waterfront Winterland kicks off the festive weekend when it opens on Friday 16 November. Open until 6 January, it’s a ‘must-pay-a-visit’ attraction for all the family with ice skating, funfair and festive food.
Enjoy ice skating on the Admiral ice rink; experience the festive family funfair, the delicious foods from the new Winterland Food Area and the Giant Wheel!
You can get all the fun of the fair at Waterfront Winterland too with a range of exciting rides to suit everyone. Hop on the Sky View if you’re seeking thrills. The sky-scraping
ride offers great views of the city whilst spinning around at 40m high. Not your thing? On the Giant Wheel you can take in the sights at a gentler pace.
You’ll find more white-knuckle excitement on the Snow Storm ride. Whilst the traditional carousel offers a more relaxing ride, ideal for young families. If all this makes you feel a little peckish, make sure you visit the new Winterland Food Area for your favourite festive treats. The food area will feature a new grill unit for burgers and sausages, a confectionary unit for sweet treats, coffee and crepes, and a new bar from Swansea business Juniper Place. There will be plenty of outdoor seating and a sheltered seating area in amongst the trees.
Rides confirmed so far:
- Snow Storm
- Sky View
- Bumper Cars
- North Pole Funhouse (new for 2018!)
- Family Carousel
- Variety of Winter themed children’s rides
- The Big Wheel
- Ice Extreme (new for 2018!)
Tokens can be bought from one of three token booths in the funfair area. Tokens are £1 each and token booths close 20 minutes before closing each evening.
*Note: Certain rides make use strobe lighting effects. Both rides display warning signs at their entrance to inform customers of the use of strobes before they participate in the ride.
Waterfront Winterland really is the perfect place to celebrate Christmas in Swansea!
